interpreted -

Those familiar with the classic
interpretation of Daniel 11 wonder how I can jump over 2200 years to our
day and apply recent events formerly associated with the power of Greece
to this chapter. Below is my explanation. |
(Daniel
11:2-4) "And now will I show thee the truth. Behold, there shall stand
up yet three kings in Persia; and the fourth shall be far richer than
they all: and by his strength through his riches he shall stir up all
against the realm of Grecia. And a mighty king shall stand up, that
shall rule with great dominion, and do according to his will. And when
he shall stand up, his kingdom shall be broken, and shall be divided
toward the four winds of heaven; and not to his posterity, nor according
to his dominion which he ruled: for his kingdom shall be plucked up,
even for others beside those."
Interpretation:
The angel informs Daniel in 521 B.C. that Persia would have three more
Kings rule the western world until it would be overcome by Alexander the
great. At the height of his power, he would die and his kingdom would be
divided to his four generals.

11:5) “And the king of the south shall be strong, and one of his
princes; and he shall be strong above him, and have dominion; his
dominion shall be a great dominion."
Q. Who is The King of the south
of Daniel 11:5.
A. In the
classic interpretation,
the south is applied to literal Egypt.
A. In the interpretation I propose,
the south will be applied to “spiritual Egypt”.
Q. Identity and time frame for
the King of the south to rise.
A. In the classic interpretation,
the king of the south was the establishment Ptolemy Soter of Egypt
around 300 B.C.
A. In the interpretation I propose,
it would be applied to the rise of atheistic France as “spiritual Egypt”
around the 1790’s.

Since
many of us are familiar with the classic interpretation, I am now going
to leave leave behind the old and concentrate on the interpretation in
question -

11:6) "And in the end of years they shall join themselves together; for
the king's daughter of the south shall come to the king of the north to
make an agreement: but she shall not retain the power of the arm;
neither shall he stand, nor his arm: but she shall be given up, and they
that brought her, and he that begat her, and he that strengthened her in
these times."
Q. If
France is figuratively the “south”, what king who would eventually
become strong and have great dominion?
A. Napoleon the Great who rose out
of the French revolution and extended the French Empire throughout the
world.
Q. What power does the King of
the North represent?
A. The king of the North represents
the Papacy as spiritual Babylon.

Q. What does the “end of years”
refer to in Daniel 11:6?
A. The termination of the 1260 year
prophecy. (See Revelation 11:3-11)

Q. How
does the failed agreement between the Kings daughter and the
king of the North apply to Daniel 11:6?
A. The failed “Estates
General” meeting triggered the French revolution. The
“Estates General” was made up of representatives of three
groups.
1)
The ruling
class.
2)
Papal church authorities. and
3)
The common working class.
Such a meeting was rarely
invoked, but in 1789, tensions were so high because of the
relationship between the corrupt ruling class and the Papal
authorities (representing 2%
of the French population) had conspired to
overwork, overtax, and underfeed the working
class. (Representing 98% of the French population) The
“Estates General” |
meeting was invoked by the king in order to pacify
the growing dissent among the working class. In order for the
working class to turn the direction of the French government in
their favor, their representatives would need to persuade either the
ruling class or the church to agree with their concerns. Since
neither the church nor the state was interested in sharing the
wealth during these hard times, the common people abandoned both the
rule of law and also any notion of spiritual authority. Reason

7-8) "But out of a branch of her roots shall one stand up in his estate,
which shall come with an army, and shall enter into the fortress of the
king of the north, and shall deal against them, and shall prevail: And
shall also carry captives into Egypt their gods, with their princes, and
with their precious vessels of silver and of gold; and he shall continue
more years than the king of the north."
Q. If the South represents an
atheistical power and the North represents the Papacy, did atheism ever
invade the papal fortress?
A. Yes, at the end of the 1260 years
when General Berthier entered Rome and captured the Pope in 1798.

return into his own land. But his sons shall be stirred up, and shall

Q. How does the phrase” come into
his kingdom” signify in regards to the formation of Communism in Russia
in the early 20th century?
A. A kingdom represents individual
nations who surrender their sovereignty to a higher power. Atheism was
adopted by Russia and acquired many nations over its dominion.
Q. Who are the “sons” of the
atheistical power of the King of the south and where was his fortress
established?
A. For nearly a century in
remission, the Beast of the Bottomless pit (atheism) arose in Russia and
it became a government based on Atheism.

Q. If the
Papacy is the king of the North, who were “his sons” that fought
for him?
A. The Papacy realized how
Communism threatened the papal objectives. Through the slow
manipulation of the Papacy, the axis powers, Hitler and
Mussolini became pawns in the support of Rome. But Germany in
particular had been specially groomed to suit her purposes for
many years. "The Pope said to me...Germany must become the sword
of the Catholic church.

This contention between communism and the Catholic
Church did not begin at World War II, it had begun much earlier. In
“1919 Hitler’s Nazi-ism was born. Archbishop Pacelli (who became Pope
Pius XII) gave Hitler money to “help his small struggling band of
anti-Communists ‘go to quell the devils work,’ Pacelli told Hitler.”
Under Vatican pressure, part of Ukrane was taken from Communist Soviet
Russia and given to Catholic Poland.

11-12) "And the king of the south shall be moved with choler, and shall
come forth and fight with him, even with the king of the north: and he
shall set forth a great multitude; but the multitude shall be given into
his hand. And when he hath taken away the multitude, his heart shall be
lifted up; and he shall cast down many ten thousands: but he shall not
be strengthened by it."
Q. Did the Papacy’s sons realize
the papal objectives?
A. No. Hitler lost the war on the
eastern front against Communism. Both Hitler and Mussolini were
humiliated and the papacy remained powerless.
Q. Would Russia have dominance
over the ideologies of Catholicism through this victory?
A. No. Although Russia would
flourish into the U.S.S.R. and become a power to be contended with, it
would eventually be overpowered by the Papacy.

13) "For the king of the north shall return, and shall set forth a
multitude greater than the former, and shall certainly come after
certain years with a great army and with much riches."
Q. Since the Papacy does not
possess a practical army, how did she raise up an army?
A. The Vatican manipulates nations
to do her will. The papacy would need to shop for a new hero to fight
against the growing threat of communism.

14) "And in those times there shall many stand up against the king of
the south: also the robbers of thy people shall exalt themselves to
establish the vision; but they shall fall."
Q. How successful would the
world be to bring down the U.S.S.R. while it was rising in its power?
A. Those who opposed the U.S.S.R.
fought against its godless worldwide influence, but its demise was
reserved prophetically for anti-Christ.

15) "So the king of the north shall come, and cast up a mount, and take
the most fenced cities: and the arms of the south shall not withstand,
neither his chosen people, neither shall there be any strength to
withstand."
Q. Daniel indicates that the
Vatican would gain the upper hand in its war against communism. When did
this change begin?
A. The Vatican strategy changed at
Vatican II in 1959-1963. A softer image must be presented to the United
States if she was going to manipulate its power in the war against
communism.

16) "But he that cometh against him shall do according to his own will,
and none shall stand before him: and he shall stand in the glorious
land, which by his hand shall be consumed."
Q.
Who is “He that shall do according to his will”?
A. Pope Paul VI who began his Papal
reign in 1962-1965.

Q.
What land represents the "Glorious" land?
A. The word "Glorious" in Hebrew means prominent.
The word is also related to an extinct gazelle with two little
horns. By looking at the prophecies of Daniel's counterpart (the
revelation of John) we notice that his revelation found in
chapter 13 describes a lamblike beast with two horns. Note that
the prophecy does not specifically say that the beast "is" a
lamb. It states it is lamb like. |
This Beast (See Revelation 13:11-17)
eventually influences the entire earth through financial pressure to bow
down to another beast that “seemed” to have had a miraculous healing.
(See Revelation 13:3) Today we see that economic sanctions are used by
the United States. These methods are employed in order to bring
dissident nations into harmony with its policies.
Q. If the Glorious land refers to
the United States, Did Pope Paul VI ever stand in that prominent land?
A. Yes, in fact, he was the very
first pope to visit the United States. Declaring “Never again war” as he
kissed the ground before the U.N.
Q. If the prophecy refers to Pope
Paul and Vatican II, in what way did Vatican II affect the United
States?
A. Vatican II was a reconciliation
strategy aimed at wooing the Protestant U.S. into her fold. If she could
seduce this nation, she could use its resources to bring to naught the
ideologies of Atheism in its variant forms. Over the past four
decades,this strategy has proven itself to be very successful.

17) "He shall also set his face to enter with the strength of his whole
kingdom, and upright ones with him; thus shall he do: and he shall give
him the daughter of women, corrupting her: but she shall not stand on
his side, neither be for him."
Q. What relative of the papacy,
was used in an agreement between Papal and Communist powers and yet
would not stand with the Papacy?
A. In 1962 The powers of Communism
struck an agreement with the Vatican called the accord of Metz. The
Vatican agreed that it would not condemn Communism at Vatican II as long
as a delegation of the schismatic Russian Orthodox Church was allowed to
attend as observers. Despite all of Rome’s effort to win over the
Russian Orthodox Church, the gulf remains to this day. (See

many: but a prince for his own behalf shall cause the reproach offered
by him to cease; without his own reproach he shall cause it to turn upon

Q. Any significance by the Pope turning his face to the Isles?
A. Pope Paul VI had been travelling more than any
pope preceding him and even avoided an assassination attempt
when visiting the Philippines.

Q. If verse 18
relates specifically to Pope Paul VI, was there a particular subordinate
that rose up against him and his work?
A. Yes. Archbishop
Marcel Lefebvre condemned Pope Paul’s work and created a noticeable
schism within the Catholic Church because of Vatican II.

19) "Then he shall turn his face toward the fort of his own land: but he
shall stumble and fall, and not be found."
Q. What does the
prophecy mean when it says “He shall stumble and fall and not be found”?
A. Pope Paul’s reign
ended when he died in 1978.

20) "Then shall stand up in his estate a raiser of taxes in the glory of
the kingdom: but within few days he shall be destroyed, neither in
anger, nor in battle."
Q. What
significance does this verse have in regard to the Pope who followed
Paul VI?
A. Pope John Paul I
died mysteriously 33 days into his papal reign in1978. He died the
evening before firing many financially corrupt Vatican officials.

21) “And in his estate shall stand up a vile person, to whom they shall
not give the honour of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably, and
obtain the kingdom by flatteries."
Q. Pope John Paul
II became the next pope. Why didn’t he receive the honour of the
kingdom?
A. To elect an Italian pope was an
“honorable” 450 year old tradition of the papacy. John Paul II was
Polish and was a charismatic speaker mastering many languages. He being
Polish would prove to be influential in the bringing down of the Iron
curtain separating the Communist dominated Catholic communities of
Eastern Europe and the free West. His actions earned him the title

22-24) “And with the arms of a flood shall they be overflown from before
him, and shall be broken; yea, also the prince of the covenant. And
after the league made with him he shall work deceitfully: for he shall
come up, and shall become strong with a small people. He shall enter
peaceably even upon the fattest places of the province; and he shall do
that which his fathers have not done, nor his fathers' fathers; he shall
scatter among them the prey, and spoil, and riches: yea, and he shall
forecast his devices against the strong holds, even for a time."
Q. What event in
the life of Pope John Paul II’s papacy matches the actions found in
Daniel 11:22-24?
A. 20 years after Vatican II, the
papacy was now in the position she wanted to spring her trap against the
powers of Communism. Pope John Paul II visited Poland and initiated its
downfall by reviving the oppressed Catholic church and rose up through

25-27) "And he shall stir up his power and his courage against the king
of the south with a great army; and the king of the south shall be
stirred up to battle with a very great and mighty army; but he shall not
stand: for they shall forecast devices against him. Yea, they that feed
of the portion of his meat shall destroy him, and his army shall
overflow: and many shall fall down slain. And both these kings' hearts
shall be to do mischief, and they shall speak lies at one table; but it
shall not prosper: for yet the end shall be at the time appointed."
Q. How did the
powers of communism fall in comparison to Daniel 11:25-27?
A. Communism did not fall through
the work of conventional armies, it fell apart from the inside, starting
from Poland, each of the former independent nations of eastern Europe
were again free nations thanks to the marvelous work of John Paul II.
“What has happened in Eastern Europe in
recent years would not have been possible without the presence of this
Pope, without the great role even political that he has played on the
world scene". - Mikhail Gorbachev - (quoted in
La Stampa,
March 3, 1992).
This
brings the church up to date in historically and prophetically. After
his apparent departure into the afterlife, verse 28 continues speaking
about his miraculous exploits.
Then shall he return into his land with
great riches; and his heart shall be against the holy covenant; and he
shall do exploits, and return to his own land." (Daniel 11:28)____________________________________________________________________________(Verse
29) “At the time appointed he shall return, and come toward the south;
but it shall not be as the former, or as the latter."
Q. If the Pope has
destroyed the King of the south, how can anti-Christ come against the
south?
A. The enemy of the Papacy is
atheism. This ideology comes in many different forms. Although the power
of Communism is dormant, its influence can be seen in secular societies
throughout the western world. A deception in the form of coming back
from the dead would be the greatest assault upon a society that has been
led to believe that there is no God. If the Papacy could pull this off
without being detected, the conversion of secular society would be
secure and the future rise of anti-Catholic governments would be
diminished. The ideologies of Rome would finally be become universal.

30) "For the ships of Chittim shall come against him: therefore he shall
be grieved, and return, and have indignation against the holy covenant:
so shall he do; he shall even return, and have intelligence with them
that forsake the holy covenant."
Q. Who are the
“Ships of Chittim”? (ships of the western coastlands" in modern
translations)
A. They are Israelites who have come
to fulfill many unfulfilled prophecies that have been spoken about them.
The prophecy about the ships of Chittim was first given through Balaam
900 years before Daniel.
"And he took up his parable, and said, Alas, who shall live when God
doeth this! And ships shall come from the coast of Chittim, and shall
afflict Asshur, and shall afflict Eber, and he also shall perish for
ever." (Numbers 24:23-24) We know this
prophecy has not taken place because Balaam was shown it would be a Last
day’s prophecy.
"And now, behold, I go unto my people: come therefore, and I will
advertise thee what this people shall do to thy people in the latter
days." (Numbers 24:14)
God desires people who
will acknowledge and worship Him according to truth. He does not wish
homage and belief through the work of deception. If the Papacy is trying
to secure the worship of God through a great deception, God will work
against it for His own honor. The prophecy indicates that God will bring
back a people who will bless the world through the knowledge of truth.

31) "And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the
sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they
shall place the abomination that maketh desolate."
But we are about to see a
repetition of the events that led to the French revolution over 200
years ago. Great light came to France.
"Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin
is a reproach to any people." (Proverbs 14:34)

32-34) "And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by
flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and
do exploits. And they that understand among the people shall instruct
many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and
by spoil, many days. Now when they shall fall, they shall be holpen with
a little help: but many shall cleave to them with flatteries."
As
the Papacy worked hard to purge the land of France of great light of
Bible truth, so will the Papacy again try to rid the earth of truth in
the last days. As the upright fled the nation of France or were
martyred, so the people of the last days be persecuted and most will
perish from the earth. As France slowly decayed for a lack righteous
souls who acted as the leaven of righteousness to uplift the land, so
will the absence of saints be the cause of decay throughout the
infrastructures of our society today.
"The righteous perisheth, and no man
layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering
that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come." (Isaiah 57:1)

35-36) "And some of them of understanding shall fall, to try them, and
to purge, and to make them white, even to the time of the end: because
it is yet for a time appointed. And the king shall do according to his
will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god,
and shall speak marvelous things against the God of gods, and shall
prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is
determined shall be done."
At
the time of the revolution, all who remained in France were those who
blindly followed the church and state without conscience. As time neared
to the termination of the 1260 year prophecy, the scales were removed
from their eyes. The people had realized they had been deceived. They
were no longer deluded but they no desire to be righteous. Rome had
purged those desires from their hearts. The citizens of France had
transformed themselves into the Beast of the Bottomless pit and they
rose up, bringing an end to the whore and her deceptive ways.

40) "And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him:
and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with
chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter
into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over."
Today, there is no great King that
rules over any anti-Catholic powers. But as soon as the world has its
scales removed after her deceptions have been proven beyond as shadow of
a doubt, the unrighteous will align themselves with a King that will
vent their fury against the great whore. We will once again see the
beast arise from the bottomless pit and 10 horns will proceed from this
beast.
"And the ten horns which thou sawest upon
the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and
naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire. For God hath
put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their
kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled."
(Revelation 17:16-17)

in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none
shall help him."
I hope this
explanation is adequate for now. As time goes by, I hope to improve
