Who are the Ships of the West?

You may have heard of "the Beast" spoken of in the book of Revelation. It is predicted that the world will worship the Beast in fear when it emerges. But few realize that he was given an alternate name "King of the North" in the book of Daniel. The prophecy states that this powerful entitiy will be met by a fearless people described as "Ships of the Western Coastlands".

Here is what Daniel says, "Ships of the Western Coastlands will oppose him, and he will lose heart. Then he will turn back and vent his fury against the holy covenant." (Daniel 11:30)
